In landscaping
we always try to establish a dialogue with the existing situation.
The projects are designed evolutively, making it possible to the
local flora and fauna to florish. Human activities must be clean,
beautiful and ecologically integrated.
The
creation and implantation of projects in this area follow a special
philosophy of work:
-
Recuperation
of the biodiversity of the natural preexisting ecosystems.
-
Native species are cultivated, emphasizing those which have
become rare or threathened by extinction;
-
Preservation and recuperation of the main existing landscaping
communities;
-
Cultivation of species which can serve as protection and food
to the
local fauna;
-
Debris and soil management, resulting from demolitions, filling
and levelling
activities. The plateaus and little hills made from such materials
are harmoniously integrated to the already existing landscape;
-
Creation of public parks and gardens for the employees and
visitors of companies and factories;
-
public squares or for employees and visitors of the companies;
-
Integration of landscaping with leisure activities or environmental
education.
José
Lutzenberger, founder of Vida, worked with ecológical
landscaping since 1970, when he created and implanted the Parque
da Guarita in Torres, which remains one of the post cards of
that beach resort. Since then, Lutzenberger made countless public
and industrial gardens.The Ecological Garden of Klabin Riocell,
a cellulose industry in Guaíba / RS
is one of his most important works in this area. His
most recent creation in this field is the rural experimentation
area of Fundação Gaia, named Rincão Gaia,
30 ha of land, surrounding a basalt quarry which in the past
had been used to build a federal road. Lutzenberger turned the
destructed area into a beautiful demonstrative area, for practicing
and teaching organic agriculture and ecological gardening. His
main attraction is the beautiful lake that formed in the former
quarry, serving as a nice leisure and playing ground for visitors.
Lutzenberger
always seeked to harmonize his creations with the natural potencial
of each place, bringing to light its intrinsic beauties and
making it as sustainable as possible. The end effect is a landscape
of extraordinary beauty that at the same time looks very natural,
like untouched nature, full of biodiversity.
Lutzenberger
gathered a group of agronomists and biologists with his philosophy
of work. It elaborates landscaping projects and coordinates
the implantation of parks and green areas in partnership with
municipalities and private and public companies:
