The
environmental education department aims at promoting the participation
of the private iniciative in the communities of wich it is part
of and promotes environmental citizenship.
Awareness
raising and orientation towards attitudes which are coherent with
sustainable development. Awakening of environmental awareness
and contribution to the improvement of life quality of the parts
involved.
Environmental
education is developed in companies and communities, through activities
as:
- Elaboration
of tematic tracks to divulge the institution's and/or company's
activities and basic environmental protection attitudes;
- Approach
initiatives with communities affected by industrial proceedings;
- Organization
of Forums and debates related to the environment;
- Training
and capacity building of environmental educators and facilitators;
- Creation
of special strategic groups intended to resolve internal or
specific problems of their working fields;
- Training
and capacity building for the selective gathering of garbage.
ARACRUZ
UNIDADE GUAÍBA/RS - CELLULOSE AND PAPER INDUSTRY since 1992
Through the creation of the CECIELL - Educational Center
for the Environmental Sciences of Klabin Riocell, integrating
activities are developed in the company and the community. Partnerships
with municipal, public and communal entities are established.
Multipliers
are trained and cleaner production proceedings divulged. The environmental
management systems in the forest plantations and the factory are
shown to visitors, students and employees.
COPELMI
- MINING COMPANY LTD. - Butiá / RS - from 1994 until 1998.
The CIAMI was created - Integration Center of COPELMI, which
intendet to integrate the company and the community, in order
to harmonize the mining activities with the community.
CORSAN
- Sanitation Company of the State of Rio Grande do Sul - since
1998.
Vida developes the Projeto Roda D'água (water weel
project), an environmental education program for the municipalities
and communities where CORSAN implants river dams for water suply.
The aim is to make people aware of the importance of protecting
and recuperating rivers.
CELUPA
- CELLULOSE AND PAPER INDUSTRIAL COMPANY - Guaíba / RS
- since march 1998.
The environmental education program of Celupa has the purpose
of enhancing the quality of the selective garbage gathering and
recycling of wastes. It also intends to stimulate the participation
of the employees and contractors, which act as multiplying agents
in several areas of the factory.
SATIPEL
INDUSTRY LTD. - Taquari / RS - from 1998 until 1999.
Starting with the selective gathering and the Waste Recycling
Central, an environmental education program was developed. The
idea was to raise the employee's interest for it by improving
awareness and responsibility for the waste generation, showing
them the importance of this issue in our days and asking them
to participate actively in the process.
