At
the beginning of the 70ies, José Lutzenberger left an important
job with an important transnational chemical corporation because
he did not want to work with chemical pesticides and became one
of the pioneers in the Brazilian environmental movement.
He
studied agronomy in Brazil and in the US and spent all his life
broadening his scientific, technical and philosophical horizon.
His
professional and environmental work were inseparable, so he didn't
limit himself to fighting environmental agression, but also worked
on the solutions, which made him internationally known.
His company
VIDA, and Fundação
Gaia,
a charity founded by him in 1987, promote sustainable development,
based on a new gaian ethics..
